Leopard dies in Maharajbagh zoo

Nagpur: A 14-year-old leopard died of kidney failure in town’s Maharajbagh Zoo on Saturday morning.

“The leopard named Balya used to be present process treatment since January 18, for bacterial infection and used to be regularly on saline since then,” mentioned zoo officer in-charge Dr Sunil Bawaskar.

On January 26 early morning, the leopard suffered respiration problem and all efforts to avoid wasting the massive cat by means of Dr Bawaskar Dr Abhijeet Motghare and Dr Prashant Sonkusre failed.

The medical doctors performed autopsy at the leopard and consigned it to flames within the zoo premises itself within the presence of affiliate professor DM Panchbhai and others. With the most recent dying, Maharajbagh has been left with simplest 5 leopards now.

The Four-year-old problem leopard used to be stuck trapped in a cage on November 14, 2008 from Vejgaon-Sarandi in Gondpipri tehsil in Central Chanda department after it used to be engaged in man-animal war.
