Kalindi bridge opens, but no relief from jams

NOIDA: As anticipated, the hole of the brand new Kalindi Kunj bridge ended in snarls ahead of the site visitors sign of the junction, with motorists preventing there and commercial vehicles being stopped for cost of toll.

The six-lane bridge over the Yamuna and the connecting Shahdara drain bridge were inaugurated by leader minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday, with the urgent of a button at the Depot station of the Noida-Greater Noida metro corridor. With its opening, commuters coming from the Noida side in opposition to Delhi had a smooth run.

But only for some time. Soon, the snarls srated increase. While officers of the company handling the MCD toll tax were prepared and a sales space used to be put in at the left side at the end of the two new bridges, some drivers attempted to dodge the toll.

D Suryavanshi, toll supervisor for the company, stated a separate lane for commercial vehicles used to be created at the excessive left of the brand new bridge. However, the placement at the floor reflected in a different way, with commuters stating that commercial vehicles had to be funnelled at the beginning of the bridge. “There will have to be a separate lane for commercial vehicles so they do not merge with non-public vehicles that have not anything to do with toll,” stated Vipin Kumar, a Jasola resident.

Moreover, in the entire site visitors mild circle, the waiting time for vehicles coming near from four facets — Jaitpur, Noida, Sarita Vihar and Faridabad — used to be 2.75 mins, consistent with Delhi site visitors police. “We also want to repair the timing and set up every other site visitors sign soon. Anyway the placement is anticipated to ease up after some days when other people get used to this,” stated ACP (site visitors) of Delhi Police south-east district, Gursewak Singh.

It is, however, transparent that those travelling from Delhi to Noida, especially office-goers, by way of the previous bridge are probably the most satisfied as they are now getting two carriageways for travelling to town. But at the new bridge, it will be the commuters travelling from Noida in opposition to Delhi who should encounter snarls.
