Jadavpur Univ student alleges sexual harassment


KOLKATA: Close on the heels of Jadavpur University’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) probing into allegations in opposition to global family members professor Kanak Sarkar, JU’s IR division has been rocked via sexual abuse allegations. An IR pupil on Friday lodged a formal grievance with the ICC in opposition to a fellow pupil, alleging harassment and sexual abuse.


IR head of the dept Om Prakash Mishra refused to comment on the topic. A senior IR professor stated, “No such grievance was made to the dept.” Vice-chancellor Suranjan Das remained unavailable for comment.


The pupil who lodged the grievance took to Facebook on Saturday to “inform everybody in and round JU, that an reputable grievance within the ICC has been lodged” in opposition to the IR post-graduate pupil. The pupil in opposition to whom the allegations have
