Cuttack station to have bio-gas plant


Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: To make the Cuttack railway station blank and eco-friendly, the East Coast Railways (ECoR) will set up an natural waste processing plant at the station by way of February-end. The plant will produce biogas after recycling dumped natural waste.
According to professional sources, Cuttack station generates 800 kg of waste every day. The waste fabrics shall be segregated as biodegradable and non-biodegradable. ECoR will set up plant for bio-degradable waste at the station, while Cuttack Municipal Corporation will raise the non-biodegradable waste.

The plant called Bio Box will have a capability of changing 500 kg of biodegradable waste into bio fuel. It shall be used for power era or cooking at the railway station, mentioned a senior railway officer.
