Central Railway saved 16.5% power in December ’18

NAGPUR: A series of green initiatives have helped Nagpur division of Central Railway to cut back power intake via 16.46% in December ultimate year.

Nagpur Central Railway will pay an annual electricity invoice of Rs20 crore, which comes to Rs1.66 crore per month. “On average, we have been saving 8.nine% energy since we took to green initiatives but due to active participation of workers in December, shall we save 16.46%,” mentioned senior divisional electric engineer (basic) Namdeo Rabde.

“During the similar duration ultimate year, we stored 10.8% power. Several initiatives like nominating officials and workers as ‘Energy Conservators’ and ‘Energy Guards’ had been taken,” mentioned Rabde.

“We have fitted LED lighting in 121 train coaches. In operating rooms, rest homes, retiring rooms, RPF barracks solar water warmers of one,000 litres had been put in,” mentioned officials.
