Bihar: Over 47,000 to vote in TMBU polls today

BHAGALPUR: Over 47,000 scholars will exercise their franchise within the scholars’ union election in schools beneath Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) to be hung on Monday (January 28), effects for which will likely be announced on January 29.
Altogether 348 scholars are contesting the union election, which is being held in 12 constituent schools and 34 postgraduate departments beneath TMBU. One out of every 1,000 scholars, a council member/ college consultant (UR) will likely be elected, whereas five faculty union workplace bearers in every faculty will likely be elected. Altogether, 47 council members (college representatives) will likely be elected from constituent schools and postgraduate departments beneath TMBU. After the students’ union election in schools and postgraduate departments, the council members will later elect university-level scholars’ union (TMBUSU).

Earlier, 383 scholars had filed their nominations. However, nomination of 35 scholars, whose attendance fell in need of 75% or who had withdrawn, was rejected all through the scrutiny of the papers on the basis of pointers laid for the election.
