Arms licence: Delhi cops begin online facility


NEW DELHI: Delhi Police Thursday launched a web-based facility for granting hands licenses to simplify the process.
The 'Online E-Arms Licensing System' is intended to simplify the process like - factor of latest hands licences, renewal of existing hands licences, registration of hands licences issued from other states and addition of guns, police stated.


"The system has been designed, developed and implemented after consultations with all stakeholders and IT professionals. It would enable citizens to apply for licence from the comfort of their homes and they would be able to check the status of their applications online," they added.


The applicant will now be in a position follow and add the required documents on-line for availing various products and services associated with hands licences on the click on of the mouse, police stated. The facility would additionally cut back repetitive paper paintings in the licensing unit and give the unit extra time for a better output. The device links all 15 police districts and the licensing unit for on-line processing.
